Time Out For A Commercial

GoPro 1080P Camera

Measuring about 3.5 inches high including mounting bracket by 3 inches wide and about 1.5 inches thick, this little bugger is so small, it’s almost invisible.  Mounted upside down on the windshield of my little Datsun bodied EM (“E” class, “M” for Modified) autocross car and configured to save the image upside down, it comes out right side up.  It’s a good way to look back on laps you’ve driven and notice where you made mistakes.  As you can see from the GoPro’s maiden voyage, I’m just plain slow.  I used to be a lot faster and after looking at the following video, it’s obvious that I need to remember why coasting isn’t productive.

I think watching full screen is best.

  1. You’re right about that, Mak. It’s like any other sport though… if you don’t practice regularly, you lose everything – timing and that seat of the pants feeling that comes from experience and tells you when you’re at the limit of traction and just about ready to wind up in the grass. Now that I’ve got the camera, I’ll try to document a little improvement.
