What Do Conservatives Really Want?

NeoCons

Chameleons

If your only source of political information is the Lamestream Mainstream Media, you would never realize that the movement known as the Tea Party Movement isn’t a monolithic group of people who support homogeneous political positions.  As a dues paying (make that Ron Paul campaign contributing) member of the original reconstituted Tea Party that began on December 16, 2007, I and many others were uniformly opposed to Congressman Ron Paul’s REPUBLICAN OPPONENTS in the race for the 2008 Republican nominee.  Since then a variety of ordinary NeoCon politicians labeled as Conservatives or Republicans have succeeded in representing themselves as Tea Party members.  I guess they’re free to do so, since there’s no formal Tea Party membership and no formal membership criteria.  Nevertheless, I am compelled to make the point that people like Dick Armey, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain and all the others on the stage with Ron Paul – are impostors.

Tom Mullen recently published an article on his blog that makes my point better than I can.  Read it HERE.

  1. I have mentioned some of these things to some Perry supporters and have also been told “People change”.

They usually don’t change core values, but whatever. I’ve all but given up.

    Secession is the last hope.

  2. After all the federal buildings are boarded up and the dollar becomes an artifact of a bygone era, suitable only for framing, maybe the word “secession” won’t be the one we’ll use to describe forming a new nation.

  3. Mullen tries to be reassuring when he says the party line will moderate after the primaries. Moderate from what? From which? This is a seriously divided party that doesn’t seem to know what it wants — beyond Not Obama, that is. I guess it’s good they got an early start, cuz they have a long way to go and a lot of thinkin’ to do before they get there.

  4. By “moderate” I think Mullen means pretending to be Obama Lite. I’m of the opinion that it doesn’t matter whether Obama or one of the anointed Republicans wins. I don’t see a dimes worth of moderation between them. Except for congressman Paul, they’ll all print counterfeit dollars until they can no longer use them to buy paper and ink from China.
